Making an Impact
A gift to the Physiotherapy Foundation of Canada (PFC) improves lives.
That’s because funded research helps provide better care and treatment for Canadians who:
- Live with arthritis, low back pain or other chronic conditions
- Require rehabilitation after stroke or a fall
- Have heart or lung disease
- Are injured on the job, on the road, or at play
A Message from the President
As the President of the CPA, I am writing to ask for your support for the Physiotherapy Foundation of Canada (PFC). We are all passionate and committed to our profession, and the impact that we have on Canada’s health care system. One of the greatest ways in which we realize that impact is through your support of the PFC.
Over the years, the PFC has awarded more than $1.25 million in grants and scholarships to the country’s leading clinical researchers. Last year, PFC awarded $89,500 in grants and supported 19 unique projects. Did you know that 52% of PFC grant recipients surveyed went on to publish scientific papers based on research that was funded by PFC?
If each of our more than 14,000 members gave just $25 a year, we would exceed PFC’s campaign goals.
Our objective is to increase the PFC funding base so that we can leverage greater partnership funding, similar to the partnership with Quebec’s Rehabilitation Research Network (REPAR), and be able to fund more clinical research. CPA recently brought a group of researchers together under the leadership of Dr. Carol Richards to plan for the development of a CPA Strategic Research Plan. Your contributions will help support implementation of the plan to insure the evidence in transitioned into clinical practice.
Your Foundation needs you – now is the time to give. Please consider donating today.
